Practices are once a week, and games are on the weekend. Practice location is Zion Lutheran Church. Volunteer roles include Coach & Assistant Coach Qualifications: A commitment to the YMCA mission and its core values of honesty, respect, reasonability and caring as well as a commitment to building development assets in youth. Value diversity, youth, and have a broad vision of health and wellness that is enhanced by relationship building. Ability to relate well to both children and their parents. Must be at least 18 to be a volunteer coach or assistant coach. Must be at least 14 to be a referee, scorekeeper, or runner volunteer. Youth basketball at the Y introduces children ages 3-17 to basic basketball skills, rules, methods of playing, teamwork, and character development. Practices are once a week and games are on the weekend. Practice locations are held at the Downtown Anaheim Youth Center or at the West Anaheim Youth Center. Games may be played at either facility. Volunteer roles include Basketball Coach, Assistant Coach, Referee, Scorekeeper Qualifications: * A commitment to the YMCA mission and its core values of honesty, respect, reasonability and caring as well as a commitment to building development assets in youth. Value diversity, youth, and have a broad vision of health and wellness that is enhanced by relationship building. * Ability to relate well to both children and their parents. * Ability to play, direct and referee Basketball. Winter Season will run from May 8 - Aug 09.

Must be at least 16 to be a volunteer Dance Assistant. Class times vary upon on the Dance Style. Monday – Thursday, dance classes are any time after 3:30. Saturday and Sunday Classes are typically in the mornings. Volunteer roles include Dance Assistant and Aid for Special needs students. The Development Intern will support the Anaheim YMCA’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts through administrative and outreach task. This position is ideal for a student or emerging professional interested in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, philanthropy, and community impact. The intern will play an important role in helping the Development Department. They gain hands-on experience through administrative tasks, database management, and preparing outreach materials. Availability: Monday - Friday from 9:00am – 4:00pm; morning or afternoon shifts available upon discussion. Some weekends may required.

Location: Anaheim YMCA (various pools) Age Requirement: 14+ (Under 14 requires parental/guardian note) Availability: Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts (Monday–Thursday, Saturdays & Sundays) Shifts vary depending on location and class schedule Volunteer Duties: We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to assist in our various swim programs. Volunteers will work closely with our experienced swim instructors to ensure the smooth running of classes and provide support to swimmers of all levels. Whether you're helping with water babies (parent-child classes), Tiny Tots, Level 1-6, Pre-swim, or our Water Polo program, your role will be essential in creating a positive, exciting learning environment for all participants. Desired Skills: Enthusiastic, energetic, and positive attitude Ability to engage with children and help them feel comfortable A passion for swimming and helping others Ability to stay alert and focused on poolside or in the water Must be dependable and able to work as part of a team Previous swim experience is helpful, but not required We need 30–35 volunteers across all our pools.
