YMCA of Anaheim

Must be at least 18 years old. Volunteers will help ensure that students receive nutritious meals in a welcoming and supportive environment. Volunteers will assist in preparing pre-packaged meals to serve to elementary school students. Ensure that meal service areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked. Monitor and assist students during mealtimes to ensure a positive dining experience. Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Collaborate with school staff and other volunteers to ensure smooth meal service operations. Volunteers will be placed at one of our after-school sites: 23 AESD Elementary School Sites, 6 AUHSD Junior High School Sites. Hours vary from 2:00p-5:00p

Must be at least 14 years old. Volunteers will serve as role models and extra support for the students and staff working on academics and engagement in program activities and clubs. Share skills and talents with teens by providing skill building in one of four areas: Performing/Visual Art (dance, drama, choir, arts/crafts, music appreciation, sketching, etc.), Life Skill (budgeting, cooking, sewing, etiquette, chess, etc.), Nutrition (health, wellness, etc.), Physical Education/Recreation (cheerleading, organized sports, game leadership, etc.). Volunteers will be placed at one of our after-school sites: 1 elementary, 6 junior high schools or 5 high schools.

Practice location is Zion Lutheran Church. Basketball Coach - Premiere Coach (Advanced League)

The Premiere Advanced Basketball League is designed for experienced youth players seeking higher-level instruction, faster-paced competition, and enhanced skill development. This program emphasizes advanced basketball strategy, disciplined play, leadership, teamwork, and strong character. Volunteers in this league hold an essential role in supporting player development and ensuring a high-quality experience for athletes and families. Must be at least 18 to be a volunteer coach or assistant coach. Must be at least 14 to be a referee, scorekeeper, or runner volunteer. Youth basketball at the Y introduces children ages 3-17 to basic basketball skills, rules, methods of playing, teamwork, and character development. Practices are once a week and games are on the weekend. Practice locations are held at the Downtown Anaheim Youth Center or at the West Anaheim Youth Center. Games may be played at either facility. Volunteer roles include Basketball Coach, Assistant Coach, Referee, Scorekeeper Qualifications: * A commitment to the YMCA mission and its core values of honesty, respect, reasonability and caring as well as a commitment to building development assets in youth. Must be 18 or Older Under the leadership and support of the Lead Advisor, the Volunteer Advisor will assist with the recruitment, training, and supervision of the Anaheim YMCA Youth & Government delegation. The Volunteer advisor will also help lead meetings, guide in writing/amending a bill, and provide insight into the program for new delegates. This position will give the volunteer opportunities to lead a group of youth, gain administrative experience, and learn about local and state-wide government. The volunteer advisor will be a role model for the delegation and should maintain good standing with the Anaheim Family YMCA and the MLC program.
